Additional Program Details
- If you wish to participate in the AI Scribe Program and its funding supports, you will need to select an AI scribe solution vendor and (no later than December 31, 2025) enter into an appropriate agreement with the selected vendor to use and access the applicable solution.
- Infoway is not a party to, and not responsible or liable under, any such agreement entered into between you and your selected vendor.
- You acknowledge that the funding supports provided under the AI Scribe Program (a) are limited to specific primary care providers and baseline solution functionality; and (b) only apply for twelve (12) months from the effective date of the agreement executed with the selected vendor to use and access the applicable solution as set out in Section 6. Any use of more advanced functionality, or use beyond the time period set out in (b) above, will be at your cost.
- THIS PORTAL IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS.

AI Scribe Program
The AI Scribe Program provides up to 10,000 fully funded, one-year licenses for AI-powered documentation tools to eligible primary care clinicians across Canada. These tools help reduce administrative burden and give clinicians more time back.
Following a rigorous national selection process, Infoway has pre-qualified a group of trusted vendors whose solutions meet national standards and unique regional needs, support secure data sharing, meet clinical practice requirements, and align with the Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap.
Infoway is collaborating with provinces and territories to implement the AI Scribe Program, with program availability, access, and execution varying by region to align with both clinical practice requirements and unique regional needs.
How to Get Started
If you are a family physician, nurse practitioner, registered nurse working in a remote community, or a pediatrician providing longitudinal, community-based care, you may be eligible to participate in the AI Scribe Program. To get started:

Newfoundland and Labrador is excited to participate in the Infoway AI Scribe Program. As a result of a rigorous screening process by Infoway, followed by a jurisdictional review, NL has chosen Mikata (Mika AI) and Tali AI (Tali) as the qualifying vendors in NL. These vendors were selected because of their integration with Med Access, the primary EMR used in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Note: salaried clinicians working in Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) are not eligible for this program, only community-based primary care clinicians who are not employees of NLHS may submit for consideration.
The Newfoundland And Labrador Health Services (NLHS), the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association shall have no liability related to or arising out of or in connection with your use of AI scribe. You are solely responsible for any errors in your records, medicolegal issues arising from the use of AI scribe, or patient harm that may result from inaccurate documentation.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL) and the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) have both produced guidance documents on the use of Artificial Intelligence in medical practice. The CMPA also has an accredited webinar , which is qualified for one credit hour of Mainpro Credits.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association also has a web page dedicated to the topic of AI Scribes, which can be found here . We strongly suggest that these documents be reviewed prior to adopting an AI Scribe in your practice.

In Nova Scotia, clinicians will be invited to express interest directly with the Department of Health and Wellness (DHW). Actively, participating AI Scribe(s) are being finalized for use in the Nova Scotia context. DHW is working through due diligence, such as privacy, security, legal and digital approvals to ensure the safety of use for our providers.

Health PEI and the Department of Health and Wellness are taking a single solution approach to implementing the AI Scribe in Prince Edward Island. The province is currently working to finalize an agreement with one of the pre-qualified vendors and complete the necessary privacy impact and threat risk assessments.
